Phishing scams target MySpace again, using Quicktime

It’s ridiculously popular, it is constantly growing, and a large amount of people probably know little to nothing about computer protection, internet security, or scams. Because of this, scam artists are capitalizing on the opportunity and using the Quicktime video player as their vector of choice.
Oh, MySpace. You offer the opportunity to be friends with thousands of
suspectperfectly pleasant people around the globe, but now you’ve been turned into a cheap, tawdry vector for malware. It would be sad, if it weren’t so, er, sad.But the vector for this newest phishing attack is one near and dear to our hearts: Apple’s QuickTime software. QuickTime allows you to embed links into its video track, allowing some malicious hackers to put in JavaScript commands that open new windows—windows that lead to fake login screens designed to steal usernames and passwords.[more]
