If a lot of you people are always asking themselves “Why do hackers do this kind of stuff anyways?!”, well, this is one answer to it. These discovered exploits are a nice cash cow… for $50,000 per exploit, you could see there would be good money to be made. Sadly, as long as there is a demand for it, it will continue to happen as well.
Underground hackers are hawking zero-day exploits for Microsoft’s new Windows Vista operating system at $50,000 a pop, according to computer security researchers at Trend Micro.
The Windows Vista exploit—which has not been independently verified—was just one of many zero-days available for sale at an auction-style marketplace infiltrated by the Tokyo-based anti-virus vendor.[more]
