We remember from a little while ago when there was a time where hacking went unpunished in certain areas of the world. Whether it be from insufficient evidence, tracking issues, or just the idea that hacking wasn’t a serious enough offense, it used to just be ignored in the past (believe it or not). But, with seeing articles like this one, it displays the reality that hacking is a serious offense on a global scale.

Police in Vietnam nabbed Thursday an Internet hacker who stole over US$31,000 from Australian bank accounts.

Together with the Hai Phong police and Royal Australian Police, they arrested Vu Ngoc Ha, a resident of the northern city and an old hand at Internet burglary.

Ha knocked off around VND500 million ($31,130) from customers’ accounts in Australian banks and moved the money to his accounts in two local banks.”
